What it does

Renders the layer(s) below as a grid of geometric marks whose size encodes tone — dark cells grow a big shape, light cells shrink to a small dot or nothing, like a halftone screen built from squares, triangles, diamonds, rings or crosses instead of dots. Fixed-size mode instead keeps every mark full and lets colour carry the image, a mosaic of shapes. Colour can be a single ink, the source colour, or snapped to an editable palette; marks can be rotated, with optional random turn. Controls: cells across, shape, mark scale and min size, fixed-size, rotation and random turn; invert and contrast; colour mode, ink/palette, saturation, paper. The source is reduced to a small grid and marks are batched by colour, so it stays cheap at any canvas size. With no source it screens a synthesized sphere so it still previews.
